What will I get from this course?

Your teacher will work with a course book, which will be supplemented with other activities.  You will gradually build your confidence in French.  We strongly recommend a course abroad in a school that has a policy of “no other languages spoken”, and staying with a host family, if you want to make maximum progress.  Consult us on schools that may suit you!

The course uses a course book as an anchor, but other activities will be introduced by your teacher.

Teacher
Lisa Calveley
I am a secondary school modern languages trained teacher (French with Spanish) with a French degree from the University of London and an MA in European Studies from the University of Exeter. Originally from Salisbury, I lived and worked for over 20 years in Belgium and France working for the Council of Europe and European Commission before returning to Salisbury. Whilst living abroad, I also taught English as a foreign language to different nationalities. In the UK, I taught English as a foreign language at Kaplan summer school and French at primary and secondary school and to adult learners in evening classes. I now teach French at nursery and after-school classes for primary school children and help secondary school children with GCSE preparation.
