What will I get from this course?

This course for adults is designed to help you improve your English in all four skills:  speaking, listening, reading and writing.  You will also build up your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation and grammar.  It’s not an exam course, but it will help you with general preparation for IELTS bands 3-6 and First Certificate.  The course runs in 6-week blocks.  You can join any time, and will only pay for the remaining lessons if the course has already started.

The course uses a course book as an anchor, but other activities will be introduced by your teacher.

  • Materials required: A book is required - you will be informed of which upon course confirmation.
  • When is follow-on course? The follow-on course will be after Easter.
  • Social events: This course takes place at Mint Yard, the Square, so after class you can visit one of the coffee shops or bars nearby with your friends and carry on practising!
  • Exam: This course is suitable as a general preparation for the following exams: IELTS 3-6 and First Certificate.
