The Language Academy (LA) aims to offer you the “cure for monolingualism”! We believe that in these days of online learning, there is still very much place for face-to-face lessons, where you can come together with like-minded people and enjoy the challenge of learning another language. We are very pleased that many of our students have taken multiple courses with us, working their way up through the levels.
As well as traditional evening courses, we run 5-hour immersion days, which include a snack lunch, intensives courses over several days, courses for kids, language holidays abroad, and ‘mastery of English courses’.
We charge £1 just so we can keep track of how many students are attending.

Our top priority is to engage dedicated teachers who love what they do. We are delighted to have a great team of teachers at LA, most of whom also do online classes for other organisations or private clients, so are very pleased to see our students in the flesh!
If you really want to become fluent – a long and arduous, but rewarding path – we recommend you take a course abroad – or “Study Holiday”. Thanks to our partnerships with language schools abroad, we can advise you on the best options and if you book via us, you will get your course cheaper than if you booked direct.
In this session, we will tell you more about LA, the levels system (including the “CEFR”), how to work on the “4 skills” in parallel and the sort of schools we work with overseas and the accommodation and activities (sport, cookery etc) that they offer. You will have an opportunity to ask about any aspect of language learning.
