Out and about in Rennes, France in May

The Language Academy is pleased to introduce its Out and About in Rennes trip.

Spend a day speaking French abroad for a day or two, as a stand-alone holiday or wrapped up in a longer trip, as you wish!

We organise friendly locals to take you around the town, speaking no English, just your target language.  Lunch (not usually drinks) is included.

We have chosen Rennes in Britanny as we have local partners to assist in the organisation and it’s not considered to be suffering “overtourism”.

You organise your own travel and accommodation and simply meet up at the appointed spot to start your in situ day of language immersion.  The days last from 1000-1600 and then you are free to have a lie down (language learning is tough!) before heading out into town to spend the evening with your travelling companion and/or other participants.

Because you need to book your travel, we guarantee that our trips will go ahead, so no need to worry about possible cancellation by us.

Original price was: £140.00.

(Offer expires 16 May 26)

Current price is: £126.00.

What will I get from this course?

About:

Rennes is the capital of Britanny, and the seat of its regional parliament.  It has many charming streets and boulevards, great shops, cafés and restaurants.  A lovely place to spend a day!

What will you see and do?

You will spend some time in the wonderful Beaux Arts Museum before crossing the canalised Vilaine river into the centre, viewing the parliament building and wandering in the beautiful old town.

What about lunch?

This is included in the price and will be a further opportunity to improve your French in a restaurant context.  The kind of context we all enjoy!

And dinner?

The programme ends at 1600 so you are free to have dinner with your travelling companions and/or with others on the tour.

How do I get there?

There is a small airport at Rennes with, at the time of writing, a regular early morning flight from Gatwick.  Alternatively, take the ferry to St Malo from Portsmouth and then the train to Rennes.

Any ideas on accommodation?

There is a good range of hotels.  We always recommend finding one you like the look of on well-known hotel platforms and then emailing the hotel direct to check what price they can give.

What happens after I book?

The programme is guaranteed to go ahead as soon as we receive a booking, so you can rest assured.  We will send joining instructions several weeks before the trip.  You will be given our 24-hour number in case of any issues on the day
