What will I get from this course?

Many people wish their parents had kept a journal, or written their memoirs or even an autobiography.

You may or may not think your life has been interesting, but you can be sure that your children and other relatives will!  And as you start reflecting on your life, you will probably realise it has had its highlights!

This group will get you writing about your life in whatever form you prefer, sharing your experiences with other group members, and reflecting on the ups and downs.  It is not intended to lead to publication in the usually accepted sense of the word (although you never know!) but it should get you started on something your family will enjoy in the years to come.

Our tutor/facilitator will make sure things run to plan and will introduce some points to think about as your write (for example, whether to record and audio version/in what form(s) you will publish) but it is really you and your course-mates who will take the lead!  All participants are asked to take as much interest in their classmates’ writing as their own.

Please note that this course will not be led by Claire Fuller and Judith Heneghan, who led a previous writing course – this information was given out incorrectly by our local paper!
